We space the nails every 4 inches on the perimeter and 6 inches in the field and use 30lb. felt rather than the typical 15lb.

About Us
AI Roofing consists of a crew of seasoned and professional roofers, ready to tackle any Dallas roofing need. Our team is lead by Ellison Hurt, a Dallas born and bred roofing professional and lawyer, specializing in insurance claims and simplifying the process so you can get back to your life.
Our roofing experts have personally supervised thousands of new roof installations in disaster settings. Our crews, typical size of 8 - 10 persons, take pride in their work and have a first time install with “no need to return rate” of over 99%.
We are accredited members of many BBB’s and accredited members of Compliance Depot. We are members of the National Roofing Contractors Association (“NRCA”), and many other local organizations aimed at improving the business environment and business practices of our industry.
Ellison Hurt is founder and president of AI Roofing Company, LLC, Roofing and General Contracting, and AI Solar Company, LLC, a turn-key commercial solar installation and maintenance provider. Since its inception, AI Roofing Company has grown from a single office to having multiple locations in the Southwest.
Prior to founding AI Roofing Company, Ellison had an expansive history of business activities in domestic and international settings. He was a principal in HomeExit, LLC, a Dallas-based real estate acquisition and management company, and Director of Business Development for T-Speed Communications. Ellison served as Corporate Counsel and Director of Human Resources for Sovereign Credit Corporation, and served as Corporate Counsel for Hogan Systems, Inc. While at Hogan Systems, an international banking software company, he served as Ombudsman for major company projects in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Bratislava, Slovakia.
Ellison has been tirelessly involved with many charitable and social organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, including Foundation Board Member of Carter BloodCare, Advisory Director of Dallas National Bank, Business Advisory Member of Wellington Associates, Inc. (a Merchant and Investment Banking firm), Regional Business Advisory Board Member of Sterling Bank, and Program Committee Member for the World Affairs Council of DFW. He is a member of The Dallas Country Club, The Terpsichorean Club, The Idlewild Club, and The Calyx Club, and the North Texas Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
He earned a J.D. from the School of Law, The University of Texas, an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a Bachelor of Arts in Letters from the University of Oklahoma. He is a Bar Certified Attorney in the State of Texas.
Ellison Hurt has a long family history in Texas. His maternal great-grandfather was a well known English doctor and Texas pioneer, Dr. R.O. Prideaux (1844-1930). The Prideaux homestead was built in 1874 and was located near the site of the Texas Ranger/Kichai Indian “Battle of the Stone Houses." The homestead was the first permanent structure in Archer County, Texas. The Prideaux ranch is still owned and managed by the descendants of Dr. Prideaux and the original structure still stands. Prior moving to Texas, Dr. Prideaux helped found Chanute, Kansas.
Ellison's paternal family has lived in Dallas for over 100 years. His grandfather George, Sr., great uncle, Leonard, and father, George Jr. were all medical doctors in Dallas. George Sr. and Leonard both held the ignominious distinction of being forced at gunpoint, on more than one occasion, to tend to the wounds of various members of the Bonnie and Clyde gang.
In his spare time, Ellison enjoys hunting, fishing, ranching and most especially, playing with his young sons and spending time with his beautiful wife.
